Thousands of job aspirants faced immense frustration and logistical hurdles after the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examination was abruptly cancelled on Tuesday due to a massive server failure. The technical breakdown occurred at the Adarsh Examination Centre situated in Sector 155 under the Knowledge Park police station jurisdiction in Greater Noida. Approximately 2,500 candidates who had gathered at the venue from early morning were left stranded and eventually forced to return home without attempting the test after hours of anxious waiting and system login failures.

Candidates Outraged After Hours of Waiting Without Proper Communication from Center Management

The examination was originally scheduled to commence at 12:00 noon, with extensive seating arrangements made for the 2,500 registered candidates. Aspirants completed their mandatory biometric verifications and secured their seats, but widespread system login errors brought the process to a halt. While on-site technical teams attempted to reboot the servers, the issue remained unresolved. Tempers flared and candidates lost patience after enduring an hour and a half of silence without receiving any clear or reassuring updates from the center management regarding the delay.

The sudden cancellation dealt a severe blow to outstation candidates who had traveled long distances across Uttar Pradesh, as well as neighboring states like Bihar and Rajasthan. Many students shared their plight with media correspondents, highlighting the financial and physical toll of traveling, booking temporary accommodations, and arriving early in the morning only to be turned away due to administrative and technical failures. Frustrated by the lack of preparedness, students staged a vociferous protest and created a ruckus outside the main gates of the examination facility.

As the protest escalated, local police teams led by In-charge Vinod Kumar promptly arrived at the scene to maintain law and order. Officers intervened, pacified the enraged crowd, and ensured that the situation remained peaceful without any untoward incidents. Recognizing the gravity of the technical lapse, the center manager alerted officials at the SSC North Region (NR) headquarters. Authorities confirmed that fresh admit cards will soon be uploaded to the official regional website for affected applicants.
