In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle executed late Sunday night, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced the transfer and reassignment of 14 senior Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across various departments and districts. The comprehensive administrative overhaul affects several key positions, including Chief Development Officers (CDOs), Revenue Council members, and special secretaries in major state ministries. The strategic transfers are aimed at optimizing governance efficiency, accelerating regional development projects, and streamlining administrative execution across local districts.

Key Bureaucratic Changes: New Chief Development Officers Appointed for Saharanpur, Lakhimpur, and Ambedkar Nagar

The late-night notification brings notable leadership transitions at the district development level. Rajesh Mahajan, who previously served as the Chief Development Officer of Saharanpur, has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the UP Startup Mission. He is succeeded by Dr. Sunil Kumar Verma, formerly the Additional Commissioner of State Taxes, who takes over as Saharanpur's new CDO. Meanwhile, Abhishek Kumar, the outgoing CDO of Lakhimpur, has been moved to the IT and Electronics Department as Special Secretary, with Yoganand Pandey—previously serving as Ayodhya's Additional District Magistrate (City)—stepping in as Lakhimpur's new CDO. Additionally, Anand Kumar Shukla has been transferred from his post as Ambedkar Nagar CDO to serve as Special Secretary and Director of the Silk Department, making way for Vaibhav Mishra to take charge in Ambedkar Nagar.

Reassignments Across Revenue Council, PWD, and Education Departments

The administrative reshuffle extends widely across state-level secretariats and divisional offices. Saheb Singh has been appointed Secretary of the Secretariat Administration Department, while Dr. Vishram and Devendra Kumar Singh Kushwaha have been assigned as Judicial Members of the Revenue Council in Prayagraj. Other key postings include Ashok Kumar Kanojia as Special Secretary for the Secondary Education Department, Arun Kumar as Special Secretary for the Rural Development Department, and Pradeep Kumar Yadav taking over as Additional Commissioner of the Aligarh Division. Furthermore, Neha Sharma has been relieved of her additional charge as Secretary of the Medical Education Department while retaining her core responsibilities as Director General of Medical Education.
