Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Steve Bannon, a prominent and controversial former advisor to Donald Trump, has launched a fiery attack on tech billionaire Elon Musk, labeling him an "illegal alien" and calling for a criminal investigation into him should Trump return to the presidency.
Speaking on his "War Room" podcast, Bannon, known for his nationalist views, didn't mince words. He urged a potential future Trump administration to scrutinize Musk and his companies—including Tesla, SpaceX, and Starlink—accusing them of improperly benefiting from government contracts and subsidies. Bannon suggested Musk poses a threat to U.S. national security due to the influence he wields, particularly through Starlink's satellite internet services.
Despite Musk being a naturalized U.S. citizen since 2002 (he was born in South Africa), Bannon repeatedly used the "illegal alien" descriptor. He specifically pointed to Musk's decisions regarding Starlink's deployment in conflict zones like Ukraine, suggesting Musk has too much control over critical infrastructure and U.S. foreign policy interests.
Bannon's call for an investigation comes even after reports that Musk recently met with Donald Trump. However, Bannon dismissed the significance of any such meeting, remaining firm in his stance that Musk's operations and influence require serious official scrutiny. He essentially wants Trump to "go after" Musk, believing the tech entrepreneur's power is a danger to the country.
