Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Dozens of Indian students, primarily from Kashmir, are stranded in Iran and have made an urgent appeal to the Indian government for their immediate evacuation. Living in a state of constant fear amidst the escalating military tensions between Iran and Israel, the students report hearing explosions nightly and describe the situation as "very scary."
The students, many of whom are pursuing medical degrees in Tehran and other Iranian cities, say they feel unsafe as the geopolitical crisis deepens. In video messages and social media posts, they have directly pleaded with India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, to arrange for their safe passage home.
"We hear blasts every night," one student shared in a video that has since gone viral, encapsulating the terror they are experiencing. The constant threat has left them unable to focus on their studies and has caused immense distress to their families back in India.
Family members in Kashmir have expressed their profound anxiety, making frantic calls to their children and appealing to authorities for help. They describe a feeling of helplessness as they watch the dangerous situation unfold from thousands of miles away.
The students' plea highlights the human cost of the regional conflict, trapping foreign nationals who are now looking to their government as their only hope for a safe return. They are urging the Ministry of External Affairs to formulate an emergency evacuation plan before the situation deteriorates further, turning their pursuit of education into a fight for survival.
