Suspense crime, Digital Desk : After recovering a stock of explosives along with communication equipment, security forces have located a terrorist hideout in the lush Suranthal region of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir, as stated by the officials on Monday.

With the joint search operation by the Indian army alongside the J&K police special operations group, two wireless sets and five ready-to-use IEDs (improvised explosive devices) were found in the Marhote area of Surankote on Sunday evening.

The recovered explosives were all set to be detonated and were in the range of 0.5 to 5 kg. The explosives were destroyed through controlled detonation which effectively prevented terrorism in the bordering district.

Explosives Concealed in Buckets and Tiffin Boxes
According to the officials, the imitative of self-destructing bombs disguised as ordinary household items resulted in heightened concealment efficiencies effortless undetection at checkpoints:

Steel buckets were utilized for packing two imitative self-destructing bombs.
Three imitative self-destructing bombs were concealed in lunch boxes. 

This manner of concealment demonstrates the ever-evolving danger posed by terrorist groups based in the area.

More Materials Recovered from The Scene

The following items were confiscated with the IEDs and the wireless sets:

- Five packets of urea (which is associated with making explosives)
- One 5-litre gas cylinder
- One binocular
- Three woolen caps, three blankets
- Trousers and various utensils

Officials suspect that the equipment that was confiscated was meant for disguise or prolonged stay in the area.
