School Holiday 2025: Those who are in school will be relieved. Considering the health of children and the ongoing heat wave, several states have started declaring summer holidays in the schools. So far holidays have been announced in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, and Himachal Pradesh.

However many other states like UP, Rajasthan, and Harayana may announce them very soon. The schools will remain closed for a long period in the months of may and June during their summer vacations. Moreover, in many other schools the old timing has also been changed.

Madhya Pradesh: As per the new order issued by the School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, summer vacation has been declared for students from 1 May to 15 June and for teachers from 1 May to 31 May. All Private and Government Schools in the state will observe these holidays simultaneously.

Chhattisgarh: In Chhattisgarh this time summer break for schools will be from April 25th to June 15, 2025. This applies to only students, the teachers will remain in their regular duties.

Delhi: The dates for summer vacations in schools of Delhi will begin from 11 May to 30 June, so school > teachers report would be from 28 June for all teachers.

Jharkhand: According to the Jharkhand Education Department, this year the summer vacation break will be starting from 22 May until 4 June 2025. This had been set earlier on June 2. However due to intense summer heat, the holidays have been shifted forward by two days.

Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu, there are different summer vacation times for each class, classes 1 to 5 will have vacation from April 22 to June 01, class 6 to 9 from April 25 to June 01, and class 10 will have vacation from April 15 to June 01.

Himachal Pradesh: This year, students in schools of Himachal Pradesh are expected to enjoy summer vacation for 32 days starting from 12 July to 12 August. Previously, it was scheduled to be from 22 June to 29 July, which would provide 38 days. Summer break is now moved to 1 to 8 June as the 4 holidays in April have been canceled. Schools in Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Nagarota Surian, Indore, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb and Una will observe a 30-day break from 1 till 30 June.
