Sarangapani Jathakam Set for OTT Release Following Modest Theatrical Run:

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Sarangapani Jathakam, featuring Priyadarshi and Roopa Koduvayur, is set for a digital release after a lackluster box office run. The film was released in theaters on April 25 and was able to garner ₹2.75 crore in India in two weeks despite critics giving it a lukewarm reception.

Having fallen below expectations, the producers are now banking on the film’s OTT release to reach a wider audience. As per a report from OTTPlay, Amazon Prime Video has bought the streaming rights for the film. The report also states that the film will be available on the platform starting May 23, though confirmation from the platform is still awaited.

Plot and Cast Details

Sarangapani Jathakam tells the story of Sarangapani, played by Priyadarshi Pulikonda. The character is an ardent follower of astrology and grapples with unexpected challenges as his life unfolds. This experience forces him to confront deeply unsettling realities about his existence and self.

Roopa Koduvayur features as Mythili, the female lead. Also cast are Vennela Kishore as Chandrasekhar and Tanikella Bharani as a businessman. Devaki is played by Pramodini, with Harsha, Raja Chembolu, and Vadlamani Srinivas taking on supporting roles.

Mohanakrishna Indraganti directed and Sivalenka Krishna Prasad produced the film. P G Vinda is the cinematographer and Vivek Sagar is the music director.

Priyadarshi's Rising Popularity

Pulijonda Priyadarshi, who recently starred in Court: State versus A Nobody, trending for his new film, started getting noticed post the courtroom drama which in general did well because of its engaging plot and narration. While promoting Sarangapani Jathakam, he released one of the trailers on Instagram captioning it, “A ride filled with twists, turns, and tons of laughs begins now.”
