About the Film

Sikandar follows the story of a determined young man who stands up against corruption and fights for justice in a system dominated by powerful elites. The film features Salman Khan in the lead, with Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead. Directed by A.R. Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, the film falls in the action-drama genre.

Mixed Reviews: Critics Point to Weak Plot and Performances

Despite strong box office numbers, Sikandar has faced criticism for its lackluster storytelling. In a review by Moneycontrol.com, the film was called out for:

Weak screenplay and unimaginative plot

Underwhelming performances

Forgettable songs and shallow emotional scenes

Over-the-top depiction of political power

Static lead character with minimal arc

Sikandar does little to redefine Salman Khan’s on-screen persona,” the review stated. “The film leans heavily on his mass appeal but fails to deliver meaningful content or character development.

Critics particularly noted that director Murugadoss, known for his past success with Ghajini, fails to replicate his storytelling strength here. The review described the film as “a prime example of lazy storytelling,” with Rashmika Mandanna being the only standout in an otherwise disappointing cast.
