Suspense crime, Digital Desk : A heartfelt social media post by Saif Ali Khan’s sister, Saba Ali Khan, inadvertently sparked a wave of false rumors on Friday, leading many to mistakenly believe that businessman Sunjay Kapur, the ex-husband of actress Karisma Kapoor, had passed away.
The misunderstanding has since been clarified, and Sunjay Kapur is alive and well.
The confusion began when Saba shared a monochrome photo of a man on her Instagram stories with a poignant tribute. "Will miss you," she wrote, accompanied by a broken-heart emoticon. "RIP. So shocked to hear you’re gone. We will always remember you."

Given Saba’s familial connection to the Kapoor family (her brother Saif is married to Karisma's sister, Kareena Kapoor), social media users and some media outlets quickly—and incorrectly—assumed the post was about Sunjay Kapur. The rumor spread rapidly online, causing alarm and confusion.
However, the tribute was actually for a different friend of Saba's, who also happened to be named Sunjay.
As the baseless speculation grew, the post was clarified to put an end to the misinformation. The incident serves as a stark reminder of how quickly rumors can ignite and spread on social media without proper verification. While the intent of the original tribute was to mourn a personal loss, its misinterpretation led to an entirely different and untrue news cycle.
