Cultural and Historical References to Business in India
Highlighting India’s ancient legacy in commerce, Hosabale referenced a second-century rock inscription. The inscription featured an advertisement for sarees, advising women on which garment might appeal most to their husbands. According to Hosabale, this points to India’s longstanding culture of business promotion and marketing.
He also underscored the importance of “transparency and trust” as guiding principles for nations to prosper in today’s interconnected global economy.
Praising NSE’s Role in India’s Financial Growth
Commending the National Stock Exchange, Hosabale noted, “NSE has uniquely contributed to the nation’s development. It has made every effort to bring India to the forefront in the field of business.”
Founded in 1994, the NSE is among India’s leading financial institutions. Its offerings include trading services, exchange listings, market indices, data dissemination, and clearing and settlement operations. The exchange plays a central role in India’s financial infrastructure and economic progress.
