
Rishabh Pant reminisced about better days when he came out to compete against his old team, Delhi Capitals. Making his debut for Lucknow Super Giants, he didn’t manage to put any runs on the board. The “keeper batsman” who signed with LSG for staggering ₹27 crores ended his innings on a duck after Kuldeep Yadav, his former teammate, bowled him over.
Trying to make an impact, Pant came out swinging in the 4th inning when Mitchell Marsh got out, but the pitch was not in his favor. He remained scoreless and made a desperate attempt to score, only to give his wicket up.

The pressure started piling up during the 14th over. Left-handed batters were put under immense pressure after three consecutive dot balls. On the 4th ball, his attempt to relieve pressure got him into trouble when he swung over long-off, failing to clear the boundry and getting caught by Faf du Plessis instead.
His head was down. The 27-year-old was visibly disappointed in himself when he started making his way to the pavilion.
Rishabh Pant’s IPL journey began with DC in 2016, an age where most youngsters were in awe of him. After his move to Capetown, Pant andimsed 3284 runs perfoming for DC in 8 seasons, but his start at LSG did not go as planned.
When he came in to bat with Nicholas Pooran, DC was making a phenomenal attempt to to get back into the match clawing their win. Later, he did witness Pooran smashing fours off Tristan Stubbs as he struck four sixes in one over from the other end.

During the match with DC, LSG Pant expressed his feelings as he stated this is an emotional game at the toss.
“I have played for DC all my life and, to be honest, there’s a lot of emotions there. Preparations have been well, everyone is in the right shape and mind,” said Pant during the toss.
The first game being set at ACA- VDCA Stadium Vizag saw Akar Patel serving as the captian making the call to toss first, opting to field.
