Cyber Cell from Maharashtra reportedly plans to take action against YouTuber and influencer Ranveer Allahbadia after he missed a follow up questioning session. This comes in the wake of reactions around India’s Got Latent show.

Besides Allahbadia, influencers Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and comedian Samay Raina were also summoned. Chanchlani and Raina honored the summons, while the decision of Allahbadia and Mukhija is being viewed as defiance in the eyes of the law.

Public and Legal Backlash for Controversial Segment

Allegations first arose when a clip featuring Ranveer became viral. His lewd question to one of the contestants involved incest. What added insult to injury was the laughter of Apoorva Mukhija and Ashish Chanchlani from the panel.

As a result, there were multiple police complaints and FIRs filed. The National Commission for Women (NCW) also intervened and demanded action. It later emerged that Ranveer had to face NCW, which intended that he would be obliged to give a written apology.

Remarks by the Supreme Court and Allahbadia

The court also chastised him for describing the remarks as “vulgar” and having a “dirty mind” which, was also on the bench’s note, brings, together with that, “shame to society,” which, apparently was the case.

Ranveer and Apoorva's Reaction to the Fallout

Ranveer further continued with podcasting by addressing his audience in a video he labeled “Dear India”on his Indian Wonder podcast. He accepted the criticism he had received stating that he would work to change the content of the podcast to focus on aspects of Indian culture and self development.

Apoorva Mukijha also addressed the incident and shared the impact she suffered.

The Controversy: Evolving Investigation and Public Outrage

The mounting public uproar, potential legal action, and various other means of scrutiny have caused remaining unsolved controversy. The withstanding case drew focus beyond the filed concerns aiming at the social media standards, mentors such as instructors of Indian civilization and advocates of self discipline, and more mental health issues.
