If you’ve seen Rajpal Yadav on screen, he’s the man who makes everyone laugh. But off-camera, the actor has been fighting a long, draining legal battle over a loan that just won’t go away. While we’ve heard about the check bounces and the jail time, a new twist has emerged that sounds like something straight out of a Bollywood script.

According to Rajpal’s lawyer, Bhaskar Upadhyay, this isn't just about money it’s about a bruised ego involving none other than Amitabh Bachchan.

The Stage Share That Didn't Happen

The lawyer claims that back in 2012, during a movie launch, the lender (Madhav Gopal Agarwal) wanted to share the stage with Amitabh Bachchan. Rajpal’s team reportedly said no. Why? Because Big B was attending the event as a gesture of goodwill and hadn't charged a penny. The team felt it wouldn't be right to have others crowding the stage.

Upadhyay alleges that this rejection rubbed Agarwal the wrong way, and shortly after, the legal onslaught began.

A Maze of Agreements

The case is complex. It started with a loan for Rajpal’s directorial debut, but over the years, multiple agreements were signed. The lawyer explains that by 2016, a new settlement was reached for ₹10.40 crore. Rajpal reportedly paid back around ₹1.90 crore, but the trouble started when old checks—which were supposed to be cancelled—were "reactivated" by the lender.

Property Refused, Jail Demanded

The most surprising part of the lawyer’s statement is about a settlement offer. He claims Rajpal offered his ₹15 crore property as security and asked for just one month to clear the remaining dues. Instead of taking the property or the money, the lender allegedly insisted on sending the actor to jail.

"When someone refuses a 15-crore property as a guarantee and pushes for jail instead, it shows the intention isn't just recovery—it's something personal," the lawyer suggested.

What’s Next for Rajpal?

Rajpal Yadav is currently out on interim bail, but the case is far from over. His team is now requesting the court to hear the arguments based on "merit" rather than just the technicalities of the previous lawyer's mistakes.

It’s a tough spot for an actor who has given so much joy to the audience. Whether it was a genuine financial struggle or a clash of egos sparked by a missed photo-op with a superstar, the road ahead for Rajpal remains rocky.
