Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : President Vladimir Putin argued that Russia does not need to use nuclear arms to accomplish military operations in Ukraine. In an interview with state television reporter Pavel Zarubin, Putin acknowledged that there were attempts to elicit Russian action, but it was not necessary.

Russia’s goals: Security and sustainable peace

Putin reaffirmed that the objectives of the military operation are to remove the roots of the crisis, achieve enduring peace, and ensure Russia’s security. These goals incorporate the ongoing denazification and demilitarisation of Ukraine, as well as the enlargement and protection of Russian-speaking territories.

Putin also dismissed his long-standing proposal for a peaceful settlement that aligns with Russian objectives, stating that it should be the foundation of long-term stability. He noted that Russia is serious about diplomacy and is prepared to take into consideration the interests of other countries, including the U.S.

Diplomatic relations are still active between the U.S. and Russia.

Before his phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on Monday, Putin stated that he respects American national interests and wishes to achieve a common ground. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has conducted three rounds of negotiations with the Kremlin and claimed to have reached preliminary agreements on NATO’s neutrality for Ukraine and the status of Crimea.
