To provide major relief to passengers traveling between Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, the Indian Railways has officially decided to operate a special festival train between Amritsar Junction and Barauni Junction. Crucially, this special service has been provided with a dedicated stop at the Hardoi railway station, offering immense convenience to local residents, businessmen, and working professionals who frequently commute between Punjab and their hometowns in Purvanchal and Bihar. According to the official railway schedule released for the festive season, the 04668 Amritsar-Barauni Junction Special train will operate every Sunday from October 4 to November 29, 2026. The train is scheduled to depart from Amritsar at 8:10 PM, arriving at Hardoi railway station at 8:53 AM the following morning. After a brief two-minute halt, it will proceed toward Barauni at 8:55 AM. On the return leg, the 04667 Barauni Junction-Amritsar Special train will run every Tuesday from October 6 to December 1, 2026. This return service will arrive at Hardoi station at 11:00 PM and depart for Amritsar at 11:02 PM, while also halting at other major junctions including Bareilly and Moradabad. Transport authorities believe that introducing these special runs will significantly alleviate crowd pressure on regular mail and express trains, ensuring smoother journeys for families celebrating Diwali and Chhath Puja.
