MP Manoj Tiwari Launches Scathing Attack on AAP Govt in Ludhiana

Launching a fierce political offensive during the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ongoing anti-drug campaign, BJP national leader and Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari addressed a massive public gathering in Ludhiana on Tuesday. Speaking as part of the party's high-profile "Nasha Mukti Yatra" at Isa Nagari, Tiwari directly targeted the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration, accusing it of complete failure in fulfilling its pre-poll promises to wipe out the state's severe drug crisis.
AAP Govt Accused of Failing Punjab's Youth and Families
During his address, Manoj Tiwari pointed out that before capturing power in the state, AAP leaders had grandly promised to eradicate the drug menace from Punjab within six months:
Unfulfilled Promises: Years into their legislative tenure, the drug trade remains an open wound, continuing to prey upon Punjab's youth and devastating countless families.
Complicity Allegations: Citing recent alarming incidents—such as the massive seizure of narcotics involving an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI)—Tiwari questioned public safety when individuals within law enforcement and administrative machinery allegedly become complicit in illicit trafficking.
Accountability: Remarking on governance failures, Tiwari noted that while formal investigations will establish final legal facts, the growing involvement or negligence within the system remains deeply concerning.
"Drug-Free Punjab Is Not Just a Promise, It's Our Resolution"
Positioning the BJP as a decisive alternative for regional transformation, the senior leader emphasized that tackling substance abuse is a national commitment:
Prime Minister Modi's Vision: Tiwari stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central leadership are fundamentally resolved to rid Punjab of narcotics, framing it as a sacred mission rather than mere election rhetoric.
The Uttar Pradesh Model: Pointing to neighboring Uttar Pradesh, Tiwari highlighted how decisive governance and stringent law enforcement successfully dismantled organized crime, gangster networks, and drug syndicates.
The Appeal for Change: Directing his message to the citizens of Punjab, Tiwari asserted, "If you want to end drug addiction in Punjab, give the BJP two chances... If Punjab is drug-free, India will be drug-free." He concluded that after holding political forces accountable in Delhi, the electorate of Punjab would similarly demand answers for unmet promises and elect a development-focused administration.
