Major revelation in CM Mann's viral video case, fake report prepared for Rs 10 lakh, two accused arrested
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Gurugram police have made a significant disclosure regarding the alleged fabrication of a fake forensic report on a viral video of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. According to the police, the complainant, Jaspreet, stated that he was pressured by some senior Punjab officials to prepare the fake report. Furthermore, his family was threatened with death.
Police investigations have revealed that out of fear, Jaspreet contacted two men named Arun and Ankit. A deal for ₹10 lakh was struck at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Sector 29, Gurugram, to prepare the fake report. During the investigation, the police also seized CCTV footage from the hotel, further accelerating the investigation.
10 lakh rupees were given for preparing a fake report.
According to ACP Crime Naveen Sharma, the accused Arun (Cyber Yan) and Ankit (Cyber Sentinel) prepared the report. However, investigation revealed that neither was affiliated with any recognized or legitimate forensic lab. A payment of ₹10 lakh was made for the report, of which Ankit reportedly received ₹50,000 online.
The police have arrested both accused, Arun and Ankit. The court has granted them eight days' police remand. The police are now investigating what electronic devices and technical means were used to create the fake report.
Accused Arun used to get fake identity cards made in Panchkula
The investigation has also revealed that the accused, Arun, worked on a contract basis in a government office in Panchkula, issuing identity cards, while Ankit worked as a contract employee in a government office in Delhi. The police are also investigating the entire network and other aspects of the possible conspiracy. Any facts that emerge during the investigation will be disclosed.
