Addressing a large gathering, Saini spotlighted the grave challenges of drug addiction and mounting unemployment plaguing the youth of Punjab, emphasizing that shielding the younger generation from social evils requires steering their energy toward sports, productive activities, and reliable career avenues. Drawing comparisons between neighboring states, Saini asserted that while his administration in Haryana ensures transparent, merit-based government jobs for deserving youth, the recruitment process in Punjab remains plagued by public doubts and questions regarding fairness and accountability.

Stepping up his political attack, the Haryana Chief Minister referenced a high-profile enforcement action from May 7, 2026, when Enforcement Directorate (ED) operations in the Mohali-Kharar area reportedly witnessed bags containing approximately ₹2.1 million in cash being thrown from a residential building. Saini used the incident to question governance priorities while ordinary youth grapple with joblessness and drug proliferation. Describing drug addiction as a collective societal crisis rather than merely an isolated family burden, Saini appealed to families, religious institutions, and social organizations to unite with government efforts, maintain open dialogues with youth, and foster community-driven awareness campaigns to secure a brighter future for the region.
