The political battle on the religious issue is heating up in Punjab. Tensions are running high, especially between the Aam Aadmi Party and Shiromani Akali Dal. On the one hand, Shiromani Akali Dal workers are pasting posters across the state to publicise the decision to socially boycott Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann as per orders of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Even the Gurdwara Management Committees under the SGPC are putting up signboards outside Gurdwaras.

Meanwhile, workers of Aam Aadmi Party have also started putting up signs against the Akali Dal. Aam Aadmi Party workers allegedly tore down a campaign sign against Bhagwant Mann in Faridkot. Ludhiana: Aam Aadmi Party workers put up a sign against Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal outside Gurdwara Baba Deep Singh Ji.

Board mentions religious errors during SAD-BJP alliance

The board points out religious mistakes during the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP alliance. Boards have been put up against Bhagwant Mann on SGPC orders.

It is alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party workers removed this board and tore it on the spot. The incident was recorded by the CCTV cameras installed at the Gurdwara. Some people initially took down the board outside the Gurdwara Sahib and then tore it down. Following the directions of SGPC, Shiromani Akali Dal workers have put up posters across the state seeking social boycott of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The issue is likely to strain relations between the two parties in the days to come.
