Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora arrested; CM Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal question ED's action
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Punjab Minister Sanjeev Arora. The ED has been conducting raids at Arora's Chandigarh home since Saturday morning. Prior to this, raids were conducted at his Ludhiana premises about a month ago. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal have targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Sanjeev Arora case.
According to sources, the Enforcement Directorate has detected alleged financial irregularities in some companies linked to Minister Sanjeev Arora. The ED claims that alleged financial irregularities have been detected in some companies linked to Sanjeev Arora. These include fraudulent sales of ₹157.12 crore and fraudulent exports made through shell companies. The agency suspects that funds have been round-tripping through foreign entities in violation of FEMA regulations. This is the reason for this action.
BJP has politicized government institutions: Bhagwant Mann
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann targeted the BJP in a press conference in Sangrur. He said that this is the BJP's approach across the country. Now they are using the ED, CBI, Income Tax, and Election Commission. The BJP has politicized these institutions. They have been using them in this manner for a long time. They have also been using them in similar ways in states like Maharashtra, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.
CM Mann said that elections are coming in Punjab. The ED raids mean that if you join the BJP, everything is forgiven. A few days ago, the ED raided Ashok Mittal's home. When he joined the BJP, the raids stopped and the BJP provided him with Y security.
Punjabis are not afraid of BJP or ED.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has alleged that Sanjeev Arora's house has now been raided. Arora's house was raided before, but nothing was found. Nothing has been found now either. Sanjeev Arora is being threatened that his business will be shut down or he should join the BJP. He is being intimidated. But this will not work in Punjab. Punjabis are not afraid of the BJP or the ED.
When Sanjeev did not give in, a raid was conducted.
Meanwhile, AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal has also attacked the BJP in the Sanjeev Arora case. He said that as soon as the Bengal elections ended, the ED raids began in Punjab. Kejriwal alleges that Punjabis have been subjected to various forms of harassment for the past few years. Similarly, the ED raided Sanjeev Arora's house. When Sanjeev refused to bow down, he is being harassed in this manner.
Mittal was inducted into the BJP with the help of a raid.
Kejriwal alleged that Punjab's water supply was attacked, attempts were made to take over Punjab University, rural development funds were withheld, and now the ED has launched a series of raids. Arvind Kejriwal further stated that Ashok Mittal's house was raided, and the next day he was inducted into the BJP. This means that the ED raid wasn't aimed at finding the stolen money, but only at subverting Ashok Mittal and getting him to join the BJP.
A few days ago, Sanjeev Arora's house was also raided. When he refused to join the BJP, his house was raided again. He said that a few years ago, Punjab's farmers were challenged, and he had to bow down to them. Today, the entire Punjab has been challenged.
