Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The World Audiovisual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES), held from May 1 to May 4 at Jio World Centre, Mumbai, marks a key moment for India's creative industry focus. Amplifying this vision, the WAVES summit aims to strengthen worldwide collaboration and innovation in the cinema, gaming, entertainment series, and digital entertainment domains.  

Over 10,000 participants which include 1,000 creators, 350 startups, and representatives of more than 300 organizations from 90+ countries, will make India a rising powerhouse in the creative economy.  

Priyanka Chopra Marks The Event As A Game Changing Moment For The World  

WAVES changed the game for the world, said Priyanka Chopra. Currently working on an upcoming film with SS Rajamouli, the actress showed her appreciation towards PM Modi and the Indian government for their efforts in realizing WAVES in a video posted on her instagram account. She added that this is much more than a summit; it positions India as a dominant player in the global entertainment market.

“This isn’t just another conference,” Priyanka mentioned. “WAVES represents India’s emergence on the global scene as it marks a milestone in our creative economy which is not only flourishing but takes the lead.”  


Chopra Compliments Government Aid in Promoting Creative Economy  

During the address, Priyanka expressed gratitude towards PM Modi along with other ministries, greatly thanking the Information and Broadcasting Ministry for organizing the event.  

“She further said that WAVES is doing exactly that because of the vision of our respectable Prime Minister, Sri Narendra Modi Ji. India has been given incredible support from the ministries working to give media, entertainment, and the creator economy the true recognition that it needs.”  

An Integrated System for Storytelling, Gaming, and Tech  
Chopra commended the summit for bringing together and amalgamating the different sectors of cinema, gaming, and technology and termed it a first under one umbrella. She called WAVES a bridge that links India’s rich traditions in storytelling to the new world of the future of entertainment.  

“Now we have the platform. And India’s always had the culture and the talent,” she added.

WAVES 2025 Will also have a tata with Grand Opening

The shaam event anticipates participation from several top of the line Amidi celebrities including Amitabh, Shahrukh, Deepika, Rajnikanth, Aamir, Alia as well. FICCI, I&B Ministry and Create in India Challenge are sytemic allies sponsoring the event.
