Lucknow: President Ram Nath Kovind is celebrating his 76th birthday today. Kovind was sworn in as the 14th President of India on 25 July 2017 after Pranab Mukherjee, the 13th President of India. On the occasion of President Kovind’s birthday, many political parties of the country including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath have congratulated him. CM Yogi tweeted from his Twitter account and wrote – Committed to public concerns, Hearty congratulations and best wishes to the first citizen of India, Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji on his birthday. Kovind was born in an ordinary family.
President Kovind was born on 1 October 1945 in a village in Kanpur district of UP. He was born in a very simple family. At that time the country was a slave of the British. He became the 14th President of the country on 25 July 2017. His life has been full of struggles. President Ram Nath Kovind’s childhood was spent in poverty. Born in a Dalit family, the life and journey of Ramnath Kovind was also full of difficulties. Despite the difficulties and challenges, his family taught Ramnath Kovind. The result of this education was that keeping all the troubles aside, Ramnath Kovind started his practice in the Supreme Court.
Such was the entry in politics
Ramnath Kovind’s entry in politics happened in the year 1994, when he was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. Till 2006, he was twice a member of the Upper House of Parliament. A lawyer by profession, Kovind also practiced in the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court. Kovind has also been the personal secretary of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. Along with this, BJP had also appointed him as its national spokesperson. Kovind has also held the responsibility of the post of President of BJP Dalit Morcha. He has been the President of All India Koli Samaj.
