PM Narendra Modi visit Varanasi: PM gave more than 1500 crore projects to Kashi, also laid the foundation stone of 143 rural projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached his parliamentary constituency Varanasi on Thursday, where he inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for development work projects worth over Rs 1,583 crore.

The Prime Minister inaugurated a 100-bed MCH wing at Banaras Hindu University, a multi-level ‘parking’ at Godaulia, ro-ro boats for tourism development in river Ganga and a three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur highway. Apart from this, PM Modi inaugurated various public projects and works. These are projects worth about Rs 744 crore.

Foundation stone laid for 143 rural projects under Jal Jeevan Mission

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of several projects and public works costing about Rs 839 crore. These include ‘Centre for Skill and Technical Support of Central Institute of Petrochemical Engineering and Technology’ (CIPET), 143 rural projects under Jal Jeevan Mission and Integrated Pack House for Mango and Vegetable at Karkhiyanv.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath were also present with the Prime Minister. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister inaugurated the International Cooperation and Convention Center – Rudraksh, which has been constructed with Japanese assistance.

Thereafter he oversaw the Maternal and Child Health Wing of Banaras Hindu University. The Prime Minister will also meet with officials and medical professionals to review the preparedness for Kovid.

‘UP number one in case of corona testing and vaccination’

Earlier, while addressing the public, the PM said that today Uttar Pradesh is the state with the highest testing of corona in the entire country. Uttar Pradesh is the state with the highest number of vaccinations in the entire country.

PM Modi said, ‘I am especially grateful to my colleagues in Kashi, from the administration here to the entire team of Corona warriors. The way you mobilized day and night to make arrangements in Kashi, it is a great service. The way in which UP handled the second wave of corona, the way in which the population of the country’s largest state is more than dozens of big countries of the world, preventing the spread of corona infection is unprecedented.
