In a few months, Madhya Pradesh is gearing up for assembly elections. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is actively engaged in a state tour. On Saturday (August 12), he marked a significant moment by laying the foundation stone for a temple-memorial dedicated to the revered poet and social reformer Saint Ravidas in Sagar district. During this event, he directed his focus towards the Congress party without explicitly naming them.
PM Modi expressed, “In the past, the preceding government introduced schemes conveniently timed with election seasons. However, our approach has been different – steadfastly standing with women, Dalits, and tribals.”
Continuing, he emphasized, “Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, I took the stance that no impoverished individual should sleep hungry. Understanding their plight didn’t require delving into books; we initiated the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana. This endeavor provided free rations to over 80 crore people, earning global acclaim for our endeavors.”
Addressing Saint Ravidas, PM Modi remarked, “Born during the Mughal rule, Ravidas ji’s era witnessed societal turbulence, oppression, and tyranny. Despite these circumstances, Ravidas ji played a pivotal role in awakening the society.”
He asserted that the contemporary nation includes individuals from Dalit, deprived, backward, and tribal backgrounds. The government is committed to offering them respect and new avenues. The society’s strength and history are far from feeble.
Speaking of the role of marginalized sections, PM Modi conveyed, “Remarkable personalities have emerged from these segments, contributing significantly to nation-building. Our government takes immense pride in upholding their legacies.”
With assembly elections on the horizon and PM Modi’s proactive state tour, the nation is witnessing a transformative period where historical figures and modern leadership converge to shape the country’s future.
