
In Nikhil Kamath podcast, Perplexity AI’s co-founder Aravind Srinivas talked about his time interning in Bengaluru for three weeks. He said he did not know the city and spent most of his time in the apartment where he was staying, apart from his work.
""I did not do any exploring, to put it mildly. I was entirely focused on work. Looking back, I wish I had explored some,” said Srinivas. Along with Zerodha, Kamath is also the founder of Co-Your and acts as the co-director in its software development division.
When I was there, I remember Koramangala not being bad. Srinivas said, “Now that I look back, I probably think I should have explored.”
Srinivas did not seem too worried about missing out, suggesting all his feelings were in check as he recalled, “The traffic was horrible and even when I remember it, and I hear it's even worse now.”
Srinivas said, “So, staying in, working and keeping myself busy was probably a smart move.”
As the co-founder and head of AI for Perplexity, the one thing that brought him joy and likely regarded the weather.
“I do remember the weather was awesome in comparison to chennai. I remember it as much better than chennai,” he stated with regard to the issue.
How did Aravind Srinivas step into the domain of Ai?
Aravind Srinivas also discussed how he crossed the threshold to the world of artificial intelligence and observed that he started becoming interested in machine learning after he participated in a Kaggle competition.
“That was my entry in AI. It was not only about winning; it was about discovering how the machines learn from the data,” he explained to Nikhil Kamath.
Nikhil Kamath further inquired to Srinivas concerning the reason why he drives himself with extreme effort. The CEO of Perplexity remarked that he has always ‘enjoyed’ driving himself to extremes for the purpose of completing elaborate tasks.
“It’s not about running after some goal to scale. It’s obsession with what I love doing,” he said.
While making the podcast, Srivinas Stated that he remembers a particular chat he had with lex Fridman, an american podcaster who recently interviewed the Indian prime minister, narendra modi. Srivinas said he remembers that Fridman grilled him on the basic concepts of AI, neural networks, and even how google runs its business.
One other subject which the Perplexity CEO’s podcast appearance came to was solving problems, no matter how basic they may seem.
Additionally, Kamath and Srinivas talked about the key advancements in AI, India’s position in it, the prospects, and the gaps, among others.
