Maharajganj: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that performing civic duties with the spirit of public welfare is the true religion. If we all start doing our civic duties, it won’t take long for India to become the greatest power in the world.

Chief Minister Yogi was addressing a ceremony organized on the occasion of Jyotirlinga Pran Punar Pratishtha Prestige and Temple Revival at the Guru Gorakhnath Mandir premises at Chowk Bazar on Monday. Sri Shiva Mahapurana Katha and Rudra Mahayagna were also completed. The Chief Minister explained the meaning of Sanatan Dharma and its implications by narrating an episode of Hanumanji’s visit to Lanka in the present meeting. He said that it is the eternal tradition of India that we not only talk about the welfare of every living being, but wish everyone happiness and consider the world as one family. Everything in the world, be it inanimate or animate, had a sense of respect for him. Expressing gratitude to someone who has done a benevolent act towards you is one of the most important characteristics of the followers of Sanatana Dharma. We have considered it as a part of religion.

The Chief Minister said that our Sanatan Dharma inspires us to express gratitude towards everything in the universe. This is why we are walking inside the world with a heritage of thousands of years. Crisis-challenges may have come, but every follower of Sanatan Dharma knows very well how to get out of the crisis and move forward.

Sanatana Dharma is eternal

He said that all faiths, religions and sects have come into the world. Some came and went, finished, their names erased. Some are, some will come in the future. They may have a distinct identity, they may develop over time. But, our eternal religion will thus maintain its supremacy in every country, time and situation. We will continue to move forward with the welfare of the people. It is the responsibility of all of us to perform our duty with the spirit of Lokmangal in Sanatana.

Religion is not just worship

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that just praying is not religion. Sticking to your responsibilities is also a part of religion. Referring to the excellent road connectivity and other development works in Maharajganj, he said that if the government does any development work, it is our responsibility to protect and safeguard it. Treat this responsibility as a religion.

The government does not give money from its own pocket

Explaining the responsibility of protecting development works, Chief Minister Yogi said that the government does not give money from its own pocket for development. Instead it is public money. By adding every single penny of public we send for development. With the same money they give free ration. Scholarships are given to SC, ST, OBC children. With this money they provide free uniforms to primary school children. With this money, many welfare programs like marriage of poor daughters, housing for the poor, construction of toilets are run.

Explained the importance of cleanliness

Yogi said that cleanliness is also a means of welfare of people. Encephalitis (JE) has ended due to sanitation. Otherwise, hundreds of children died of encephalitis every year in Maharajganj itself.

Chowkbazar has all the possibilities to become an ideal Nagar Panchayat

Chief Minister Yogi said that the person who came to the square after five years will not be able to recognize it. Earlier we used to call it a chowk, now the chowk has actually become a bazaar. A health ATM will also be installed in the hospital here soon, which will have the facility of 60 types of tests at the same time. He said that Chowkbazar has been developed as a smart town area. He said this could be taken forward as a model by linking it with a public address system and installing CCTV cameras at intersections.

The stadium is under construction

The Chief Minister said that now the stadium is also being constructed. Children here will excel in sports as well. Sports are as important as studies. It has already been recognized here that all the means of religion can be in a healthy body. A healthy body will be achieved only when one is physically healthy. He said that children need to engage in sports activities along with studies. Sports competitions are being promoted at each village, each block, assembly and parliamentary constituency level through MP Sports Competitions.

The Prime Minister raised the prestige of India in the world

Chief Minister Yogi said that two wonderful events happened in the world yesterday. The President of Papua New Guinea honored Prime Minister Narendra Modi by touching his feet. Even the President of America, the world’s biggest power, says that seeing PM Modi’s popularity makes him want to take his autograph. This sense of reverence and respect for PM Modi equals respect for every Indian. This is the honor of 140 crore Indians. He said that by doing good work like PM Modi, we too can get respect in our village, area, district and state. Respect is earned only when good work is done.
