Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The exit of Paresh Rawal from Hera Pheri 3 has disappointed fans of the comedy series, as he is a veteran actor. He confirmed his leaving the project on social media but mentioned that it was not due to any creative conflict. This ends the speculation of his coming back to the much-loved character Baburao Ganpatrao Apte which he popularized in the franchise.
Refunded Fee and Interest Paid
As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, the actor has shared in the media that he will pay back the signing amount of Rs 11 lakhs along with 15 percent per annum interest and additional money. The source has said, “Paresh Rawal has returned the signing amount along with interest and has added a bit more as a goodwill gesture.”
Payment Terms Led to Exit
These sources also speculate that the actor was promised a total fee of Rs 15 crores, out of which 14.89 crores were to be paid a month after the movie’s release. With the filming expected to take place next year, they expect the movie to release somewhere around 2026 to 2027. This timeline along with payment delays seem to be the reason for the exit.
Legal Challenges with the Film Production House
As reported, Rawal's exit has created a legal trouble of sorts with Cape of Good Films owned by Akshay Kumar who has purportedly slapped a Rs 25 crore lawsuit on the actor. A statement to the public by the production house regarding the legal suit is still pending.
The Hera Pheri Saga and Rawal’s Contribution
The Hera Pheri franchise set off with its inaugural offering in 2000, which was followed by Phir Hera Pheri in 2006. Paresh Rawal’s take on Baburao is arguably amongst the best comic roles ever executed in Bollywood cinema. Rawal is still remembered for his lines from the films even after two decades.
What Lies Ahead for The Franchise is Uncertain
The remaining co-stars of the film surely have not made any replacement announcement for the role they just lost with Rawal's exit. It's a matter of time before we know, what direction the new production intends to take with either substituting the actor or changing the script. However, Akshay Kumar and Suneil Shetty remain attached to the project.
