NZ vs PAK: The Pak team is all set for their New Zealand tour after losing the Champions Trophy and coming back home. Yousuf had previously said he would not join the team for the New Zeland tour, but has recently changed his mind. The former captain decided to accompany the team on their white ball matches. During this tour he will act as batting coach for the team.
What was the reason behind refusing the tour?
The former centurion for Pakistan, Mohammad Yousuf, informed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that he will withdraw from the tour because his daughter was unwell. But once reported on the news, a PCB official proclaimed, ‘Yousuf reported to the board that he daughter’s health is perfectly fine and therefore able to accompany the team to New Zealand.
When will the series commence?
The Pakistan team will be touring New Zealand for five T20 Internationals and three ODI matches. Departure date is set on the 12th of March. The T20 series commences on the 16th of March. The New Zealand team performed brilliantly in the Champions Trophy. This team had to leave the trophy with India with four wickets remaining.
A New Zealander’s cuts are as deep as the wounds they inflicted on Pakistan.
The New Zealand team slept Pakistan with their Champions Trophy victory. They Pakis had already lost in the tri-series. It will be interesting to see how the Pakistan team performs on this tour.
For the Pakistan T20 series, Salman Ali Agha will assume the role of captain, while for the ODI matches, the captain's position will shift to Mohammad Rizwan.
