The tragic incident, which reportedly occurred in May, has once again cast a harsh spotlight on the prevalence of such brutal acts against women in the country.
Sana Yousuf, known to her followers as Sana Ejaz, was beginning to make a name for herself as an online content creator and model. According to media reports citing police sources, her father, Yousuf, and brother, Hamza Yousuf, are accused of strangling her to death. The alleged motive behind this horrific crime is said to be their disapproval of her chosen profession as a model and social media influencer.
Sources indicate that Sana's family, residing in Manga Mandi, Lahore, had pressured her to abandon her work. It is alleged that after killing her, they transported her body to their ancestral village near Okara and buried her there, attempting to conceal the crime. However, authorities launched an investigation following suspicions, and the gruesome details began to emerge. Her father has reportedly been arrested in connection with the murder, while her brother is said to be absconding.
