Japan's PM Takaichi will be on a visit to India from July 1 to 3, to discuss trade and defense relations.

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi will visit India next week on a three-day visit to discuss ways to further strengthen ties in various areas such as trade, investment and defence.

The Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday that Takaichi will be on an official visit from July 1 to 3 at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit will be for the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit.

"The summit will provide an opportunity for both sides to review and strengthen all aspects of mutual cooperation. It will also provide an opportunity to exchange views on regional and global issues of mutual interest," the ministry said.

Takaichi's first visit to India

This will be Prime Minister Takaichi's first official visit to India. The Ministry of External Affairs said the visit follows Prime Minister Modi's visit to Tokyo for the 15th India-Japan Annual Summit in August 2025. The visit reflects the shared commitment of both countries to further enhance the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.
