Addressing senior law enforcement and security leadership, Amit Shah noted that historical oversight regarding emerging threats like narcotics trafficking, Left-Wing Extremism (Maoism), and regional disturbances in the Northeast forced the nation to bear long-term consequences for decades. Praising the coordinated efforts of state police forces, central agencies, and paramilitary personnel, he highlighted that current administrative strategies have successfully dismantled major internal security flashpoints. He urged the national forum to analyze geopolitical and domestic trends over the next 15 to 20 years to proactively counter future vulnerabilities.
Border Security and Anti-Infiltration Measures
Reiterating the government's uncompromising stance on national sovereignty, the Home Minister outlined a comprehensive four-pronged border security framework shared across border states over the past eight months. Stating that the nation must remain vigilant against illegal migration, he remarked that unauthorized entry compromises economic stability, security, and demographic harmony. Furthermore, the administration highlighted the successful extradition of approximately 274 economic and criminal fugitives between 2019 and 2026 through strengthened international cooperation mechanisms.
Judicial Reforms and Criminal Justice Overhaul
Turning to legal infrastructure, Shah announced that the newly enacted criminal laws and judicial codes will achieve complete implementation across the country within the next year. He projected that this systemic overhaul will dramatically streamline legal proceedings, ensuring that criminal cases reach final verdicts up to the Supreme Court within three years while increasing overall conviction rates by 25 percent.
Combating Terrorism, Narcotics, and Leveraging AI
Addressing emerging security paradigms, the Home Minister called for a 360-degree approach to dismantle terror networks and commended past inter-agency operations, such as the decisive action against banned organizations like the Popular Front of India (PFI).
Narcotics Control Vision 2026-2029: Shah directed state police departments to rigorously execute a "Detect, Disrupt, and Destroy" strategy to safeguard younger generations from drug abuse.
