2 million students dreamed of becoming doctors; faced NEET-UG paper examination
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : The paper examination was held with stringent security arrangements at 5,454 examination centers in India and abroad. Medical entrance exam NEET-UG was re-conducted under security in entire country, no irregularity to ease the worries of NTA and education ministry and for dreams of over 2 million students to turn into reality to become a doctor, OMR papers sealed it in a unique way.
Examination was conducted in Pen and Paper and OMR format.
NTA decided to take NEET-UG with CBT (Computer Based Test) in upcoming year. Earlier, the examination was organized on 3rd May but due to paper leak case, entire exam was cancelled. Investigation has started and CBI investigating the case. NTA stated that examination of medical entrance entrance was organized simultaneously at 551 cities in India and centers situated in 14 cities abroad and more than 5440 centers was there.
More than three dozen central government ministries along with state governments and central organizations were engaged in work for 37 days, NTA claimed examination has been conducted in each center with fixed procedure, OMR sheets were also being transported with the security like papers, Indian Air Force and Post also supported in the drive to save any fraud.
Considering the activities of exam mafia, NTA made stern security arrangements for the examination due to misinformation. For the safety of every student and prevention of exam related fraud, Central Security Forces along with local Police were deployed on all examination centers and all the cities will be have cyber commandos, central organizations and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will keep an eye on examination that will be conducted in Hindi, English & 13 others language. Education Minister monitored through CCTV – during the examinations education minister visited to the NTA head office control room & monitored examinations with the CCTV camera.
And directed security personnels to do the job cautiously. CCTV was Installed on All centers –PTI has stated NTA says paper leak video circulated on net is fake, will take action against the person who made and circulated the video. Paper examination gave extra time – in this paper examination students were given 15 minutes extra time to fill up other things for examination.
Normally students are given 3 hrs to solve the entire exam paper, this year NTA increased time by 15 min to fill up the other information to complete paper during the exam time for sake of the students, and examination end up on 5:15 pm instead of 5 pm which began from 2 pm and exam will be held from 2:00 pm to 5.15 pm and in many parts of the county, and at other locations.
Special attention was also given to each student – Nearly 10,000 specially-abled students gave their paper on 21 May while around 81 students from various parts were studying under medical condition; one of the student’s medical condition from Kolkata has seen in major road accident from Kolkata a day prior and some have cancer were studying at home while undergoing chemotherapy so NTA provided every required help to students, and the Education Minister spoke to students’ parents, who recently had a road accident and who also gave exam while struggling with health. - Biometric Verification,Physical Verification and documents,-Seven Lakh, police personnel, CAPFs, supervisors and others officers will also monitor examination centres.-Every hall will also have at least one CCTV camera.-More than 1.38 Lakh CCTV cameras will monitor 95 thousand examination hall- 53311 High Power Jammers have been installed to deter electronics gadgets to prevent its misuse from students,etc. – The NTA thanked everyone, who had been part of the whole effort “the exam would not have been possible without their efforts,” IANS reported. The agency added that the examination, the result of the coordinated efforts, was about ensuring “that every student had only one thing in mind: the paper in front of them.” The NTA had assistance from multiple ministries and government departments. Among the major supporters were the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, along with the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of External Affairs, Department of Posts, Indian Air Force, CAPFs, and banking institutions such as SBI, Canara Bank, PNB, and UCO Bank.
According to NTA Director General Abhishek Singh, the agency had not received any complaints about a leak and was “100 percent confident” in its execution of the examination this time.
Modi avoided to cause inconvenience to students, he waited for 45 min to leave airport! - To ease traffic in Kolkata on the NEET examination day and to make it convenient for aspirants to reach their centers on time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi waited for 45 minutes before leaving the airport. Modi was in Kolkata to attend an International Yoga Day program. As the exam started at 2 p.m. , he was in the city airport until 1:15 p.m., then instead of heading directly to his house, he waited until 2 p.m. , avoiding to contribute to any possible traffic congestion around examination venues during student commuting to examination centres.

Absent in re-exam more than 2 lakh) –Reasons for increasing attendance- the cancelled of the examination has left students only few days for preparations- Many students already registered for other exams such asJEE along with other graduation courses such as B.sc, Nursing etcetera.
