Suspense crime, Digital Desk : Tech mogul Elon Musk has once again taken aim at the New York Times, branding the esteemed news organization "pure propaganda" and claiming it's "not even trying to hide it." Musk's sharp critique, delivered via his social media platform X (formerly Twitter), came in response to developments in a legal challenge initiated by former US President Donald Trump against the Pulitzer Prize Board.

The controversy stems from Trump's persistent efforts to have the 2018 Pulitzer Prizes awarded to The New York Times and The Washington Post rescinded. These awards recognized their reporting on Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election and alleged links to Trump's campaign—a narrative Trump has consistently decried as a "hoax" and "Russiagate."

Trump had filed a lawsuit in Florida against the Pulitzer Prize Board after it refused his demands to revoke the awards. However, a Florida judge recently dismissed this lawsuit. The judge determined that the Pulitzer Board possesses the discretion to decide on award recipients and that its decision-making process in this instance was not grounds for legal intervention.

Despite Trump's lawsuit being dismissed, Musk seized on the situation to reiterate his criticism of the New York Times. The Pulitzer Board itself had previously conducted two independent reviews of the contested 2018 awards and concluded there was no evidence to justify retracting them, affirming the integrity of the original reporting.

Musk's comments add another layer to the ongoing and often heated debate surrounding media bias, the role of journalism, and the narratives concerning the 2016 election and its aftermath. His outspoken views on X frequently target mainstream media outlets, aligning with a broader skepticism towards established news sources voiced by some public figures and their supporters.
