MP News: Railways has put forward a new line option in the Ratlam-Mhow-Khandwa-Akola broad gauge project for Madhya Pradesh. Also an additional line will be constructed on this route and this will be junctioned with the new line. The Railway has given approval for its survey.  

Now there will be two lines between Indore-Khandwa. This would add to Indore\'s Rail network. This will also enhance the Indore side of the railway. The secondary side of the railway is already completed. Railways have sanctioned 2 crore 24 lakh rupees for dual track survey.  

As you know, the Ratlam-Mhow-Khandwa-Akola broad gauge project will end the dead end of Indore’s terminal. This would open direct access towards Maharashtra. Add 13 villages which would get access via this route. Last year, this project obtained approval mw- from the budget. The total funding allocated was 910 crore. The project also received special status in 2008. The overall expense will be over 2000 crores.  

Railways has approved tenders of 468.65 crores for the diverted rail line for Patalpani to Balwara. This tenders also hold two major tunnels. One for 4 kilometer long tunnel is available.

Indore will receive more trains with a double line expansion. Additional trains will become accessible. Changes will not take place until after the assessment is done, so work is progressing in all areas except for the forest department land. MP Shankar Lalwani had asked the railways for an extra line from Indore to Khandwa.
