This fast can be broken only after sunrise during Dwadashi Tithi. In Hari Vasara, which is the first quarter of Dwadashi, breaking the fast is discouraged. Ideally, the Parana should be done during Pratahkal (early morning).
What Is Mohini Ekadashi?
It falls on the 11th day of the month’s waxing moon (Ekadashi Tithi of Shukla Paksha) in the month of Vaishakha. Followers observe a fast on this day and offer prayers with the intention to receive the blessings of Lord Vishnu. It is believed that fasting spiritually cleanses a person and, helps him or her transcend the illusion of Maya and negativity.

It is believed that this Ekadashi is on the name of Mohini which is considered the female incarnation of Lord Vishnu. During the Samudra Manthan, Mohini used to give Amrit (nectar of immortality in the Hindi language) to the Gods while deceiving the demons. When Ekadashi fasting spans two days:
Smartha (householders): Fast on the first day
Vaishnavas, Sanyasis, Widows, Moksha-seekers: Fast on the second day
