Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a bizarre incident that highlights the security challenges at major infrastructure projects, a man was arrested after he scaled a 12-foot perimeter wall to enter the high-security construction site of the new Navi Mumbai International Airport.
His reason for the dangerous and illegal trespass? He claimed he was simply trying to find his lost mobile phone.
The incident occurred on a Sunday morning when alert personnel from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), who are tasked with guarding the massive site, spotted the intruder. They immediately apprehended the man, identified as Raju Yadav.
During questioning, Yadav told the officers that he had previously worked at the airport construction site as a labourer and had lost his phone there. Believing it was still somewhere inside, he decided to take matters into his own hands by climbing the formidable wall to retrieve it.
The CISF did not take the security breach lightly. After detaining him, they handed him over to the Navi Mumbai police for further action. A case has now been registered against Yadav for criminal trespass.
While the man's motive may seem trivial, the act of breaching the perimeter of a high-security zone like an international airport, even one under construction, is considered a serious offense. The incident underscores the constant vigilance required to secure critical national assets.
