Mahoba – counting of votes is going on, media persons are not allowed to go to the counting place

Mahoba: The counting of votes for the urban body elections has started in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh. Media personnel have been prevented from going to the counting places during the counting of votes which is going on from 8 am amid tight security arrangements. Route diversions have been done to stop the movement of people near the counting site.

No one is allowed to enter the counting place except the counting personnel, counting agents, police administrative officers. There is resentment among media personnel for not getting entry. The fate of two municipality and three town panchayat presidents and councilor candidates in 90 wards of the district will be decided. Counting places have been set up at three places in the district. The counting of votes of Mahoba Municipality, Kabrai Nagar Panchayat is going on at Polytechnic College Mahoba. The counting of votes for Charkhari Municipality and Kharela Nagar Panchayat is being done in Charkhari. On the other hand, the counting of votes of Kulpahar Nagar Panchayat is being done in Kulpahar tehsil only. Mahoba Municipality, Charkhari Municipality has 25 wards each. Apart from this, 15 wards in Kabrai Nagar Panchayat, 12 wards in Kharela Nagar Panchayat and 13 wards in Kulpahar will be decided for the post of president.
