Mahatma Gandhi’s statue damaged by miscreants in Washington, US apologizes, says – search for culprits continues

The United States has regretted the loss of Mahatma Gandhi’s statue by some unruly elements in the US capital of Washington DC. US Ambassador to India Ken Juster said it was tragic to damage the Gandhi statue in Washington. We are sorry for this. Please accept a polite apology from us. Violent protests have been going on in the US since the death of black civilian George Floyd in police custody. During one such demonstration, some unruly elements tried to damage the statue of Mahatma Gandhi outside the Indian Embassy in Washington.
