Suspense Crime,Digital Desk: LPG Prices as on 1st May 2025: Operatives of Indian Oil has revised the price list of LPG gas and also, the commercial 19 kg cylinders have become cheaper. The price has been slashed by as much as Rupees 17. In Kolkata, the price of commercial cylinder stands at Rs1851.50 from Rs1868.50. Mumbai is now selling this cylinder at Rs1699 from Rs1713.50, and Chennai is also lowering their prices to Rs1906.50 from Rs1921.50. Delhi will now have it for Rs1747.50. Domestic LPG cylinders will, as of this date, May 1 2025, be sold in Delhi at Rs853, Kolkata at Rs879, Mumbai at Rs852.50 and Chennai at Rs868.50.

According to the data, the last revision of the price rate of domestic LPG gas was on 8th April. LPG gas has seen an increase of Rs50 on the 14.2 kg LPG as the last subsidy was given after a year. Firstly, the change on the date of 1st April is for the commercial type cylinder, and The 19 kg LPG in Delhi has dropped in price by Rs41 to 1762. The price today is as of May 1. Again the price is being slashed.

LPG cylinder is obtainable at a discount of Rs300.  

The total number of LPG connections in the country is 32.9 crores. Out of this, 10.33 crore are linked with the Ujjwala scheme which gives the poor cylinders at ₹300 lesser than the market price. Due to pre-existing state schemes in the southern states like (Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh), Ujjwala scheme beneficiaries here are only 10%.  

Subsidy Status: In the budget allocated for 2025-26, there is provisioned 11,100 crore for LPG subsidy. Last year, in the 2022-23 fiscal budget, 22,000 crores was provided to oil companies because they were selling cylinders at a loss.
