In today's world, where everyone is looking for investment opportunities, the stock market excites people regardless of him being a prominent figure or a common man. However, only a few years ago, the average individual didn't pay much attention to the stock market. These days, it is increasingly common for average people to actively follow and engage in buying and selling stocks and shares. Surprisingly, those who previously didn’t pay attention to the stock market ended up owning shares that made them wealthy beyond their imagination. Just recently, one such event has come into the spotlight.

What is the current share pricing?

A Chandigarh citizen's astonishing fortune materialized when, while doing some tidying up at his house he stumbled upon physical shares of Reliance Industries Limited which are valued at around eleven lakh rupees today. Car enthusiast Ratan Dhillon was cleaning the house. According to the documents, these 30 equity shares were bought in 1988 at the rate of 10 rupees a share. Unfortunately, the gentleman who possessed them is no longer in this world.

post video on social platform

Because he did not know much about investing, Dhillon posted a picture of his share documents onto the X social media platform and requested for opinions on what he ought to do next. He made this post on March 11 at 9 in the morning and within no time at all, it was viral. Up to this point, over 10 lakh people have viewed it and a number of them have reacted to it. Some users now looking at the stock price said after three splits and two bonuses, his 30 shares have now grown to over 960, and about 11 to 12 lacs worth.

What was the reaction from the public

Jokingly, another user commented that Ratan Bhai maybe search well in the house and you might get some old MRF shares too. Some recommend trying emailing the company in question and asking them to dematerialize these shares and then transfer them into his demat account as they already said. Some user also mentioned that in order to do this, document physical verification will need to be done first and then those shares can be put online.
