Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a powerful use of his public platform, acclaimed actor Adivi Sesh has issued a fervent appeal to the Indian government for a complete ban on animal cruelty and the implementation of stricter laws to protect the nation's voiceless creatures.
The actor, still riding high on the success of his film Major, was moved to action after witnessing a horrific viral video depicting a man brutally killing a helpless dog. Shaken by the incident, Sesh took to social media to share his disgust and then followed up with a formal letter addressed to Shri Parshottam Rupala, the Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying.
In his impassioned plea, Sesh urged the authorities to go beyond existing regulations and introduce a "blanket ban on the sale of animals for illegal slaughter and animal cruelty." He highlighted that such a decisive step would not only address the rampant issue within the country but would also position India as a global leader in animal welfare.
"I have been a pet parent and a pet lover all my life," Sesh wrote, emphasizing his personal connection to the cause. "I believe it is our solemn duty to protect these innocent beings."
His appeal highlights a growing public sentiment that the existing penalties under the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act are not a strong enough deterrent for offenders. By taking his appeal directly to the highest levels of government, Adivi Sesh is lending his influential voice to the countless animal welfare advocates across the country, hoping to spark meaningful legislative change and ensure that such acts of barbarism are met with severe consequences.
