According to police, the incident occurred on the Barharwa-Farakka main road under the Barharwa police station area where a speedy truck hit the motorcycle they were riding on.
A mother, son and daughter died on the spot in this accident, while the youngest daughter of the woman was badly injured. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as 22-year-old Ismail Sheikh, 45-year-old mother Ayesha Bibi, and 18-year-old sister Ruli Khatun. The mother's youngest daughter was badly injured in the collision. After taking initial first aid, the injured girl was admitted to Malda, West Bengal hospital due to her serious condition.
Reportedly, the family was returning from Farakka, West Bengal, on a motorcycle, where they had gone to get their youngest daughter treated.
Their motorcycle was struck by a speeding truck on the Barharwa-Farakka main road. The vehicle crashed into the motorcycle due to which Ismail Sheikh, Ayesha Bibi and Ruli Khatun died at the spot. Upon receiving information, the police force reached the spot, took possession of the bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination.
Police have seized the truck involved in the accident and have started the investigation process. As a result of the accident, sadness has spread in the entire area and people have raised concern over the number of road accidents and have demanded from the administration to effectively implement the traffic rules and take appropriate steps to improve the safety. The police are investigating the matter and are trying to determine the cause of the accident.
