Aspirants preparing for government clerical roles in Jharkhand face a fresh setback as the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has officially announced the cancellation of the Jharkhand Intermediate Level Combined Competitive Examination-2023. The examination, which specifically required computer knowledge and Hindi typing qualifications, was aimed at filling approximately 836 clerical positions across various government departments for both regular and backlog vacancies.
Requisition Withdrawn Following Rule Amendments
The decision to scrap the examination stems from a formal directive issued by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms, and Rajbhasha. On July 29, the department sent an official letter to the Commission withdrawing the recruitment requisitions for these examinations.
According to reports, the withdrawal was executed with the explicit consent of the concerned departments, necessitated by recent amendments to the state's recruitment and service rules. Because the foundational regulations governing the hiring process have been altered, the existing examination framework could no longer proceed.
Fresh Recruitment Drive and Potential Increase in Vacancies
While the cancellation halts the current selection process temporarily, it paves the way for a revamped hiring initiative. The Personnel Department is slated to send a fresh recruitment requisition to the JSSC under the newly amended rules.
Significantly, administrative indicators suggest that the total number of clerical positions may increase when the fresh notification is released. Candidates who had applied for the regular and backlog posts will need to keep a close eye on upcoming announcements as the state administration prepares to restart the entire recruitment process from scratch under the updated regulatory guidelines.
