A long-cherished dream for devotees is fast becoming reality as the Tourism Department prepares to construct a modern ropeway on the sacred Kauleswari mountain at an estimated cost of Rs 29 crore, paving the way for enhanced accessibility and regional economic growth.
High-Level Meetings Clear Path for December Construction Start
The ambitious project gained strong momentum following a detailed high-level discussion between Chatra MP Kalicharan Singh and Mukesh Kumar, Secretary of the Department of Tourism, Art, Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs, at the state capital in Ranchi. Following comprehensive reviews of the infrastructure blueprint and site logistics, authorities confirmed that the physical construction of the ropeway project is slated to commence by the end of December 2026.
Alleviating Access Challenges for Elderly and Child Devotees
Maa Kauleswari Dham stands out as a unique and spiritually harmonious confluence of three major religious traditions: Sanatan, Jain, and Buddhism. Because of its profound historical and cultural heritage, the hilltop shrine attracts a steady stream of devotees and travelers year-round.
However, climbing the steep hill has traditionally presented a major physical challenge, particularly for elderly pilgrims, women, and children. The upcoming ropeway will eliminate this barrier, offering a smooth, safe, and comfortable journey to the hilltop temple and ensuring that all devotees can access the sacred site with ease.
