Eastern Railway Announces Special Trains on Basukinath-Patna and Other Key Routes to Ease Devotee Rush

The ongoing holy month of Sawan has brought a massive wave of spiritual fervor across the nation, drawing millions of Shiva devotees to sacred pilgrimage centers. To efficiently manage the massive passenger rush and ensure smooth transit for pilgrims visiting the revered shrines, the Eastern Railway has announced the operation of dedicated Shravani Mela special unreserved trains. Spanning multiple key routes—including Basukinath-Patna, Patna-Jasidih, and Madhupur-Narkatiyaganj—these special services are designed to provide immense relief to thousands of 'Kanwariyas' and travelers during the peak Monday and Tuesday rush.

Basukinath-Patna Special Train Schedule and Timings

To accommodate pilgrims traveling between Jharkhand and Bihar, unreserved special trains will operate regularly on Mondays and Tuesdays throughout the peak fair weeks.

Train No. 03563 (Basukinath-Patna Special): Will depart from Basukinath at 16:45 hrs on August 10, August 17, and August 24, 2026, arriving in Patna at 01:00 hrs the following day.

Train No. 03564 (Patna-Basukinath Special): Will leave Patna at 01:20 hrs on August 11, August 18, and August 25, 2026, reaching Baidyanath at 09:00 hrs the same day.

Train No. 03565 (Basukinath-Patna Special): Scheduled to depart Basukinath at 10:30 am on August 11, 18, and 25, arriving in Patna by 20:00 hrs. In both directions, these trains will halt at strategic stations under Eastern Railway jurisdiction, including Ghoramara, Mohanpur, Deoghar, Jasidih, and Simultala.

Additional Fair Specials: Patna-Jasidih and Jasidih-Basukinath Routes

To further streamline crowd movement and minimize congestion at major junction stations, Eastern Railway has introduced supplementary unreserved services:

Train No. 03566 (Patna-Jasidih Special): Will depart Patna at 20:25 hrs on August 11, 18, and 25, arriving at Jasidih at 02:50 hrs the next day, with a scheduled halt at Simultala station.

Train No. 03562 (Jasidih-Basukinath Special): Will operate every Monday, departing Jasidih at 14:55 hrs on August 10, 17, and 24, reaching Baidyanath at 16:05 hrs after brief stops at Deoghar, Mohanpur, and Ghoramara.

Madhupur-Narkatiyaganj Special Train Details

Catering to pilgrims traveling across extended distances in the region, the railway administration has also scheduled long-distance unreserved mela specials:

Train No. 03567 (Madhupur-Narkatiyaganj Special): Will depart Madhupur at 01:00 hrs on August 11, 18, and 25, reaching Narkatiaganj at 12:25 hrs the same day.

Train No. 03568 (Narkatiaganj-Madhupur Special): Will make its return journey, leaving Narkatiaganj at 13:25 hrs on August 11, 18, and 25, arriving back at Madhupur at 02:15 hrs the following day, with stoppages at Jasidih and Simultala.
