Doctors will be appointed on contract basis in Bokaro General Hospital, retired doctors of SAIL will get priority

Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : SAIL management is hiring nine doctors on contract at Bokaro General Hospital. These will include two specialist doctors in the orthopedics department, and one each in the pediatrics and anesthesia departments. Five doctors will be appointed as general duty medical officers.

Interviews for qualified candidates will be held on July 16, 2026, in the ED Medical Conference Room at BGH from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Retired physicians from SAIL hospitals will be given priority in selection.

The monthly retirement of doctors at Bokaro General Hospital is adversely affecting health services. To address this, the management is continuously pushing for contractual appointments. In this regard, Dr. Ravi Ranjan has been appointed to the Radiology Department on a one-year contract.

The company management will pay them four hundred rupees per patient for performing an ultrasound. However, interviews for two positions of doctors in the radiology department of BGH were held on June 20, 2026. Dr. Ravi Ranjan was the only candidate to appear for the interview. The results have been released today.

Eligibility of candidates to be reinstated on contract

Doctors appointed on contract at Bokaro General Hospital must possess an MBBS degree, a PG Diploma, or a PG Degree from a recognized medical institution. Doctors appointed as General Duty Medical Officers will receive a monthly salary of 90,000 rupees.

Whereas in the departments of Orthopedics, Pediatrics and Anaesthesia, the holder of MBBS with PG Diploma degree will be given a salary of Rs 1 lakh 20 thousand and the candidate having MBBS with PG degree will be given a salary of Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand.

In addition, they will be provided with company accommodation, mobile phones, and free medical treatment. Candidates must not exceed 69 years of age.
