Commuters traveling along the vital Ranchi-Patna route and residents of Hazaribagh can finally look forward to permanent relief from grueling traffic congestion and frequent road accidents. Under the supervision of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), construction work on the much-anticipated 1.87-kilometre-long flyover stretching from Ichak Mor to Sijua has officially commenced. Spearheaded with an estimated budget of ₹63.50 crore and assigned to Maan Builders Company, the project was set into motion following a site inspection and direct instructions issued by Hazaribagh Deputy Commissioner Hemant Sati. Scheduled for completion within a timeframe of one and a half years, the development is expected to completely transform the transportation landscape of the region, bringing immense joy to local shopkeepers, pedestrians, and long-distance drivers alike.

Separating Local and Long-Distance Traffic to Curb Accidents and Streamline Commutes

Ichak Mor has long served as a high-volume transportation hub where heavy long-distance trucks and buses mix with local traffic heading toward Ichak Bazaar, Gobarbandha, Dhawaiya, Katkamsandi, and Chatra, frequently creating massive peak-hour bottlenecks and earning the junction a reputation as an accident-prone black spot. The new engineering blueprint addresses this by routing highway traffic over the elevated flyover while designating dedicated service roads for local movement. This clear segregation will eliminate the hazards caused by sudden pedestrian crossings and stopping vehicles in market areas, drastically curbing accidents and ensuring seamless, uninterrupted travel for motorists commuting between Jharkhand and Bihar.
