Are Bjp worried of one defection MLA in the Jharkhand Rajya Sabha Elections
Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Jharkhand Rajya Sabha Elections 2026: Before the voting of two Rajya Sabha seats on June 18, Bjp led NDA MLAs could be shifted to a hotel.
Bjp led National Democratic Alliance is making its way towards shifting all of their MLAs to a hotel prior to the June 18 election for two seats of Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand.
Sources said that all 24 NDA MLAs could be housed in the Radisson Blue Hotel, and would be directly taken to the Assembly on buses on the day of voting.
Bjp leader told- We don’t know of any such developments
While, BJP leaders stated that they are unaware of any such move. Independent Rajya Sabha candidate Parimal Nathwani is also understood to have put up at Radisson Blu Hotel.
Meanwhile, a key meeting of all All India Alliance MLAS has been called at Chief Minister’s residence at 7PM this evening. According to sources, necessary guidelines will be handed over to the MLAs regarding voting process and strategy in Rajya Sabha Elections.
Three candidates are competing for two seats in the state. JMM and Congress has fielded one candidate each and BJP led NDA is supporting the Independent candidate Parimal Nathwani. Pranav Jha and Baidyanath Ram are from Congress and JMM, respectively. However, there are no assurances about Nathwani reaching Rajya Sabha, indeed the numbers are favorable to Grand Alliance in the assembly. However NDA is claiming victory. But Nathwani is not having the numbers of four MLAS to reach Rajya Sabha.
How does the math of Jharkhand Assembly favor Rajya Sabha Elections?
All India Alliance is in strong number in Jharkhand Assembly, alliance having 56 members in 81-member Assembly comprising 34 from Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), 16 from Congress, 4 from RJD and 2 from CPI(ML). BJP led NDA is with 24 members in the Assembly comprising 21 from BJP and one each from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), AJSU and JD(U), and the LJP (JJP) has oneMLA.
In this equation, looking at the math of Rajya Sabha elections, independent candidate Parimal Nathwani requires a majority of 28 voters in order to get elected to Rajya Sabha and the NDA has 24 MLAS at present.
