IPL 2025 CSK Retention List: The names of the players retained for the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have been announced. With this, it has become clear that Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MSD) will once again be seen spreading his flair in the IPL. All the franchises in the IPL had to submit the list of their retained players by October 31 before the mega auction. In such a situation, 5-time IPL champion team Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has retained MS Dhoni before the mega auction of IPL 2025. The interesting thing is that Dhoni has been retained by Chennai Super Kings as an uncapped player. That is, CSK has retained Dhoni in its team for just Rs 4 crore.

Let us tell you, in the Governing Council meeting of the Indian Premier League (IPL) last month, the BCCI decided that Indian players who have not played any international match in at least five calendar years will be considered uncapped players. The retention cost for an uncapped player was kept at Rs 4 crore. Dhoni has also not played any international match since 2019. This is the reason why CSK has retained him as an uncapped player. Apart from Dhoni, Chennai Super Kings have retained Rituraj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dubey, and Mathisha Pathirana (foreign).

Among the players retained for IPL 2025, the CSK franchise has retained Rituraj Gaikwad and Ravindra Jadeja at the highest price of Rs 18 crore each. Mathisha Pathirana has been added for Rs 13 crore while Shivam Dubey has been added for Rs 12 crore. Dhoni has been given Rs 4 crore as an uncapped player.
