Suspense crime, Digital Desk : India's Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, has publicly praised the incredible skill and bravery of women pilots in the Indian Armed Forces, highlighting their critical involvement in the recent "Operation Sindoor" – the challenging mission to rescue workers trapped in the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarakhand.
Speaking at the "Sashakt Nari - Viksit Bharat" (Empowered Women - Developed India) program, Singh emphasized the growing power and contribution of "Nari Shakti" (women power) across all sectors, particularly in national defence. He specifically confirmed that women pilots were instrumental during Operation Sindoor, playing "key roles" in the complex logistics and execution of the rescue. While the exact nature of their sorties remains operational detail, their involvement underscores the increasing reliance on female personnel in high-stakes situations.
This isn't an isolated instance of women excelling in the forces. Singh pointed out that women are no longer just in support roles but are taking on combat positions. They are flying fighter jets, serving on warships, and have even been deployed to the formidable Siachen glacier, the world's highest battlefield. This marks a significant and positive shift in the traditionally male-dominated military landscape.
The Defence Minister credited the government's proactive policies for this transformation. He highlighted initiatives like opening the doors of Sainik Schools (military schools) to girls, granting permanent commissions to women officers, and actively working to increase their representation across all ranks and services. "Our government is committed to ensuring women have every opportunity to serve the nation," Singh stated, reinforcing the administration's dedication to gender equality within the armed forces.
Singh's address celebrated not just the operational successes involving women but also the broader vision of an India where empowered women are integral to national development and security. The message was clear: India's women are not just participating; they are leading and excelling, even in the most demanding fields, proving their mettle and inspiring a nation.
